This game reminds you of HM64 while bringing in new stories. A wonderful port for the PSP. I highly recommend it.
First of all, I love the fact that you can choose to either be a boy or a girl. I never owned a Game boy or Game cube to have access to the other HM games that allowed that so I thought it was pretty cool. It definitely brings back memories of HM64 because of the graphics and most of the characters, although the families seemed to have switched around! It all worked out though, it is a WONDERFUL game! Especially if you are a fan of the series! I liked that it involved trees, as in, you can 'interact' with the one on your farm. Meaning, if you plant flowers on your farm bees will end up making a hive in the tree to the north of your shipping bin. These bees will then produce honey that you can sell, use in recipes, or give to villagers. If you give some of this honey to Louie, the scientist that lives with Gotz (of Gotz Construction), he will tell you that this honey is special and you will end up getting more money for it! The tree also gives you apples in the fall.
The game is not without its issues, but it is still wonderful to play. If you have played Harvest Moon games before and loved them, then this is the game for you. It is a game of repetition and conversation, but what HM game isn't? I have only played this game once, and I chose to play as a boy, but I am at the very end of the game. I've got as many cows, sheep, and chickens as possible, I have a horse and my dog, a greenhouse, and a field full of grass to feed my livestock. I am married to Karen and she has just had a little boy on the game. I believe that this is as far as I can go, but I still play it every once in a while just because I love the game! I highly recommend this game to anyone who like role-playing games or any other harvest moon or farming game (I'm talking Farmville and such on FB and myspace).
