Despite the many responses saying that this game is either mediocre, bad or just plain abysmal. However, don't let the rehashed idea hinder you from enjoying the immense fun that is Harvest Moon: Boy and Girl.
From the very start of the game, you get to choose between playing as a boy and a girl. However, your choice is superficial, since both games are almost the same, as with the other Harvest Moon games. The differences are just a few: your protagonist's gender, people that you will be able to court and marry and the core storyline itself. However, the story barely affects the game.
Afterr choosing, you are treated to yet another title screen, reminiscent of Back to Nature. From there, you are to be thrown inside the game.
Harvest Moon: Boy and Girl starts at an innocent and simple pace, and is definitely interesting. As with the other Harvest Moon games, you are to revive a run down farm left behind by a relative.
The list of tasks to undertake is an endless one. Boy and Girl is definitely away from the repetitive side. Sure, the typical "farm-feed-water-eat-sleep" cycle the series is known for is present. But unlike the other games in the series, Boy and Girl is showered with events.
From Chicken Sumo Wrestling to Swimming, Boy and Girl's unpredictable nature is definitely something to appreciate.
Away from farming, you still have tons to do. Collecting items and interaction with people are essential, especially if you vie for their acceptance. Eventually, you will start a family and work harder.
Harvest Moon: Boy and Girl may be a port, but it's safe to say that it's an excellent port.
