I play my first harvest moon game, and i think it was a great game, they even let your brush and pet your animals. then some strange things will happend, and it make you rich. if you didn't know how to make a relationship with girls, this game kinda help you. then it teach you about animals, planting, and relationship with your friends at the town. you even can compete at the festivals thing. you also can get married, and make a baby, which is supposed to teach you to become a father, which i think was a stupid thing, well it's part of the game.
