This is what A Wonderful Life should've been....

Well, I can honestly say that Magical Melodies is my favorite installment of Harvest Moon since 64. At first I was discouraged by the increase in time, but I now realize it keeps me on my toes... unlike A Wonderful Life, which quickly became boring to me. This increase overwhelmed me at first; then soon it provided a needed challenge to Harvest Moon. The graphics, especially the fish and beach, are very remiscent of Animal Crossing, but it helps the game to maintain that down-to-earth quality - something that felt missing from Save the Homeland and A Wonderful Life. The option of 10 spouses per gender almost guarantee the perfect spouse for picky players in this reviewer's opinion. Characters come and go if ignored, so this new factor entices players to spend time each day in chatter. This new village is very large, but this size prevents, the reviewer at least, daily visits to each section. It's another new challenge that almost forces you to make a schedule. The sound is pretty good. I quite enjoyed the upbeat, bass-like music in certain cutscenes. If you are capable financially and everything else, it would be worth your time to get this. It should keep you well occupied till the next installment due to its apparent replay value.
