Ah, yes... For those of you who remember and played Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, you're probably holding off on buying this game since it's $40.00+. However, I'm here to tell you that this game is MORE THAN WORTH the money!! This game starts off a little different than most of the Harvest Moon's, considering that you've decided to get into the farming life rather than work on your ancestors' farm. You get a choice of three: One in the middle of town (small), one that's good for crops and is across from the Blue Sky Ranch (medium), and one that's by the river/ocean (big but bad for crops). You start off with nothing more than a mere house and some land; which quickly develops if you play your cards right! In this game, there arn't any farm animals that are graciously given to you like in A Wonderful Life. Plus, you have to buy your own Barn, Coop, and House Upgrades (which you need to further progress in the game). Plus, you get to choose from TEN SPOUSES!! Not to mention that you can select your gender. At first, it doesn't sound that fun: Spend money, buy houses, raise animals, get married... However, while playing the game, you realize that this game is a LOAD of fun! Not to mention that you can decorate your own house with furniture that you buy, and a cooking system that brings back the reality of cooking by buying cooking essentials (oven, mixer, ect.) and use the right, large or small quantity of ingredients to cook it (AWL left you with only THREE max ingredients and you couldn't buy the right stuff)! Some of you are probably thinking: Oh great, now I need MORE animals and MORE proccessers... Luckily, this game brings out even more reality when you go shopping! You can shop at the Blue Sky Ranch for livestock and produce; (I forgot the name of Gina's place) Gina and Liz's place for seeds and veggetables; Cafe's and the Perch Inn which will let you buy something to eat; and even more stores that will open once you meet certain needs! If you're a Harvest Moon fan (or if you like playing your own life) than this game is more than worth it!!
