A good game that plays like a classic
Farming is made easier with upgradable tools that also level up which increases their usefulness. Farming and getting married isn't pressured to make food/money or get through the story respectively. Don't like farming for food? get some animals and make eggs and milk to get money, need veggies for a recipe? just buy them if u dont want to grow them. Marriage is now an extra feature which will get you some musical notes to beat the game completely, but there is no pressure from anyone to get married, everything is your choice.
As you progress through the seasons and grow more successful the town grows and gains more buildings which allows more products and services to be purchased. Some are useful, like a blacksmith to upgrade tools, but there are some pointless ones like the cafe' that just gets you cake.
The main objective of the game is to revive the harvest goddess who has turned to stone by collecting musical notes to create the "magical melody". Some notes are easy to achieve, like walking 1 step or not talking to anyone for a day. Then there are some that take hours, maybe even days of playing(total, not consecutive)), like getting married or having a child.
The graphics seen dated, but provide a pleasing and bright experience throughout the game. The song can get repetitive, but any game has its repitition at one time or another. Those who cant handle cutesy expressions or anime might retch at first, but its hard to be mad when everything else is all happy. Overall, those who have played HM games in the past or people who simply enjoy sim games should at least rent it, although you might not get enough time to get into the game if you do. Now, for those who can't handle cute and cuddly, or think farming and marriage is just weird, don't even look at it if you don't want to take a chance you might regret.
