I Think Hear of Darkness is just great. The game play is truly wicked

User Rating: 7.8 | Heart of Darkness PS
The game contains eight levels, each quite different with a unique set of challenges. Their names illustrate this diversity: Canyon of Death, Swamp Lands, Magic Lake, Spice Island, River of Fire, Caverns of Doom, Into the Lair, and Heart of Darkness. The attention given to audiovisual details is truly astounding, but here too the game seems to embody key contradictions. Shadows are dynamically cast and object textures are specially designed so as to give the game a more interactive look. The animation is incredibly intricate, with over 2000 frames just for Andy alone. The background music is composed by Bruce Broughton, with major Hollywood film credits to his name, and the sound effects are designed to be able to output to 16 stereo channels. Yet, despite this obvious attention here, there is no attempt whatsoever to incorporate the latest advances from 3D graphics acceleration or 3D surround sound.
