Heavenly Sword is great at what it does. It's not just simply a hack away type of game that GOW has made the genre into. You have the heavenly sword your people's most prized possesion said to be handled by your people's god. As your people are being killed off by a ruthless king you must fight back.
The heavenly sword has 3 types of attacks meaning quick, strong and even ranged. The story and voice cast is amazing and some of the best you'll see. Graphics are stunning and boss battles are memorable.
One thing that this game does great with is the sixaxis controller which is actually put to good use in this game and isn't overdone.
As you play as Kai a lady archer who is quite young you'll shoot down foes but with the sixaxis controller you can guide that arrow into the head of an enemy. It's hard at first but within minutes you'll get the hang of it.
The worst thing about heavenly sword is that it's too short. The story will only last 5-8 hours if that. That is why I recommend you rent it. If you want a great game to take a day of your time let it be this one.
That is why I give this a 9.5/10
