So you're wondering what type of single player action RPG this is now that multiplayer is closed, read further.
Bad...
Story: This is really the worst part of the game. What is bad is the presentation, not the story itself. If you read all the quests, they are actually pretty funny and entertaining. But this isn't a book, it's a game and it would of been nice if there either voice acting (like Titan Quest, every quest line is voice acted) or more cinematics (there are very few and the few there are are not that good).
Stability: The game client can be tempermental and seems to be inconsistent across different systems. It runs well on mine but I still have the occasional crash.
Unbalanced: There are really only two good classes in this game, the guardian and the cabalist. The others are okay but these two are the best.
Good...
Gameplay: The most important thing is the best thing about this game and that is gameplay. It really is fun game if you are playing it correctly. If you like games like Doom, Diablo...any game where your taking on hordes of monsters than you will probably like this game.
- Pick the right class (Cabalist, Gaurdians are both good classes, experiment with the one you like best.
- Play in 3rd person mode, accuracy counts for little and situational awareness is far more important, so I recommend playing in 3rd person even as a ranged class.
- Get the client stable, try both the DX9 and DX10 modes. DX9 is pretty solid and usually give you much higher FPS (60 avg), although recent drivers that were released by Nvidia actually make both about the same.
- Read some of the quests, they are actually kind of funny.
- Have fun with the weapons and mods, this game is really about creating the most highly efficient killing machine you can. So picking the right mods for weapons and experimenting with different weapons combinations is part of the gameplay.
In the end this is a pretty simple and fun game that I think was trying to be too much to too many people
