Gameplay: The game involves raising a Pikachu you find in the Wild. Professor Oak will help you through the game by telling you how things go. The most interesting feature in Hey You Pikachu is you can talk to Pikachu via microphone that comes with the game. Pikachu only understands a few words though, so don't think he'll know what you are talking about all the time. Other then talking, you can do some fun tasks, such as collecting food, babysitting Caterpie, finding lost Poliwag, and even a treasure hunt on the beach. The game offers a deep sense of simulation it seems. After you complete everything Professor Oak taught you, you are pretty much finished. However, Hey You Pikachu still contains some secrets that even I haven't found yet. If you like Pikachu and spending time with him, Hey You Pikachu might be the kind of game for you Graphics: The Graphics are real rough in many areas, since it's an N64 game. But even back in 2000, these Graphics weren't really the best ether. There could have been a better effort in the game's graphics. There are a huge number of pop-ups found in the game, and the frame rate is constantly slow in some areas. One impressive thing about Hey You Pikachu however, is Pikachu's face expressions. Still, as a N64 game, it is pretty weak in terms of Graphics. Sound: The music is catchy and cute. This is one of my favorite Pokemon Soundtracks. Sometimes I want to play the game just to listen to the music. The Pokemon voices sound a lot like the TV series, which is a good thing. Hey You Pikachu is real good with its soundwork. Conclusion: If you like Pokemon, but like them pretty much for battle, you won't find much appeal in Hey You Pikachu. Hey You Pikachu is mostly for Pokemon fans that like to have fun with Pokemon. Hey You Pikachu has a big amount of surprises and secrets, that it might keep you appealed for a while. Hey You Pikachu is my favorite Pokemon game for the N64. Some of you gamers might feel the same way if you try the game out.
I remember I begged my parents to buy me this game. A chance to talk to Pikachu?! No way, talk about amazing! I'll get to interact with my favourite mascot. This was not the case. Although Pikachu would sometimes ... Read Full Review
