A good old days baseball sim gets a critical makeover

User Rating: 7.5 | High Heat Major League Baseball 2004 PC
Before franchise license monopolies at the end of the good old days of gaming, when the quantity of sports game titles could match the RPG fantasy and shooter gore, this baseball series garnered respect despite sub par graphics. But then when with this last swan song volume they finally tried to clean it up featuring more polished acceptable visuals, critical consensus favor went sour. Go figure. Still, the strengths of this game made it one of a kind in that game play experience could be tailor made to suit player preference. The ability to edit the AI and camera angles via the tune file set it apart from all other sweet science sims. So '04 gets a good grade. HH never became an eye candy hit. But stellar saving grace game play made it a keeper. No wonder why a competitor bought the code.
