Annoying to pick up and understand at first, but it kept me playing until I mastered the game, which didn't take long.

First off, there is no story.

Secondly, you will spend most of the time trying to understand the game's mechanics. Far too many choices for a main character.

Once you have the mechanics down, the game is rather simple. Run into the wilds, kill some beasties until your out of health and return. Building your town is the majority of the game. Unfortunately, the game is completely random. Creating great opportunities, or ridiculous and back setting situations creating frustration.

I made 3 characters, the first 2 abandoning after learning the game a bit. By the 3rd character, I beat the game (on long mode) in several hours. By the time you get awesome loot, the game is over. Giving you little to no replay value.

Also to note: navigation is very simple, but annoying sometimes. You are constantly running back and forth between town. You will also spend a great deal of time hunting for monsters that you can actually defeat, at first it is easy. But monsters a level above you are difficult to kill, and 2 levels above is suicide. Camp's commonly jump up in level more quickly than they should and are misplaced as well.

For example: Three camps in a line. Town->A->B->C
There will be a camp with level 4 beasties at point A. Then a camp with level 6 beasties at point B. And then a camp with level 4 beasties again at point C. Making you go around just to find mobs that are killable. High level mobs also chase you down for quite some distance.

This game at best, is something to kill time at school or work. Not worth paying more than $10 for (at best).
