Although Hitman hasn't changed terribly from the first three, this is probably the best of the series.
Gameplay
Although there are countless ways to possibly improve Hitman (go to www.hitmanforum.com to see 'em all), the core gameplay is great fun. There are countless ways to take out your targets, and almost all of them are satisfying. How can you beat lighting some lady on fire, and having her trip over a railing and get eaten by a shark? Not to mention the pulse-pounding thrill of the fiber wire and the mines. Where do these people come up with this stuff? The environments are some of the most creative settings I've ever seen in a video game. Porn kings having Christmas parties in the Rockies? Masquerades with angels and demons? Hillbilly weddings? This is inspired stuff.
Graphics
It is the xbox version, but the game looks very good. Perhaps some of the character models, although well designed, look a bit strange. Nothing to be too worried about though.
Sound
If I'm not mistaken, the soundtrack was nominated for Best Soundtrack in a video game. The voice acting is generally excellent, especially Mr. 47. The cool, icy tone fits his stealthy, brutal profile perfectly.
Value
If you enjoy pulse-pounding, open-ended, darkly humorous and sinister stealth action gameplay then this game is for you.
The Skinny
I can honestly say that I will definitely be looking out for the sequel to this excellent game. Its flaws are insignificant for the most part and the game is all in all just fun to play. Although it's very similar to the previous releases, the environments and upgrades alone are worth the purchase.
