Average shooter. Excels at nothing.

#1 In my reviews, single-player always weighs 6 marks and multi-player only weighs 4 marks. It's because the Campaign represents the memorable moments CREATED by the development unit and involves the most production value. MP is in essence typical game modes wrapped together with new maps, weapons, etc. Then you're good to go. The production value is nowhere close to SP. You cannot beat group interaction. It's absolutely fun. So is talking to your friend. That's why I would not credit a game when it's actually your friends that cheered you up in MP.

I often lost my mind if I wrote too much so I'm going to use lists to replace paragraphs. I hope this will help defeat my clumsy style of writing for good.

SP

THE GOOD:

- Checkpoints
The placement of checkpoints are fairly generous. It makes the Guerrilla run a lot more bearable.

- Unlimited Stamina
It's a game alright. I don't want realism that requires my man to stop running to catch his breath every 10 meters (like Alan Wake). Good job, HF.

- Awesome Chopper Level
Shock and awe FTW!

- Funny achievements
A few achievements involve doing funny things like jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. These are easy but memorable achievements that should be featured in all games. Not those Seriously 2.0 BS.

-Good use of outdated engine
Graphics looks behind the times but it's still very nice. Lighting is exceptional although I would be better off without the bloom. That is horrible to get blinded by the Sun while advancing.

THE BAD:

- Bugs:
I and Connor both got stuck in the wall. In Ch7, the first objective after the helicopter part is to clear Koreans. Then friendlies will blow the gate up. It fails to activate three times across my three runs (easy, iron-man, guerrilla EACH!) so I had to restart checkpoint.

- Too Short:
I beat the entire game in one afternoon (6 hours max), iron man across two days, guerrilla across two days. See how short it is. I was EXPECTING more of it instead of WANTING!

- BS Bits:

Ch4 The Wall: Activate Gate Controls.

Reminds me of COD World at War (Grenades at War) Attack on the Reichstags: Flak 88s. You are tasked to expose yourself to 2-hit kill enemies that infinitely re-spawn. How cool is that?

Ch5 Heartland: Get to the Chopper!

Infinite re-spawn again. And you need to rush to the chopper and praying they don't use your back as target practice. I already beat Ch5 on Guerrilla BUT I wouldn't pretend I'm a gaming god and tell the complaining folks "get better at gaming!" because I understand the pain. This part is broken. Totally not fun and not healthy for your brain cells.

- Nationalism? Not again!

Yea, foreign occupation... Resistance... An eye for an eye. That Connor dude is heroic huh? Then it makes me think about the Taliban. Ain't they fighting the same war as American Resistance? It's old-fashioned but PEACE should be taught no matter how war still rages. HF is full of nationalism that just feels cheap if you look at the human race as a whole.

MP:

I've only played one match so far but I've watched many HF MP videos online. I'm a shooter fan since Doom 3 so I know my way around.

They say HF = COD+BF. I don't think so. Maybe they are talking about the vehicles? But HF still feels like a free-for-all cluster-fcck shooter. Team work is minimal and you die so quickly. Much like COD.

I'm not going to play much HF MP for sure. Can't wait for BF3.

Final Score:
SP- 3.5/6
MP- 2/4
