The Game That Ages Well After 10 Years
I have all the Homeworld games: Homeworld, Homeworld: Cataclysm and Homeworld 2. Back then my Pentium 4 and my cheap ATI Wonder Pro graphics are sufficient enough to run it with minimum features on.
When I started Homeworld 2, it was vastly improved from the earlier games in terms of audio and the model of the ships. The gameplay was also improved a lot by using 'right-click' functionality which most do most of the work for managing and engaging your ships to battle. The action sequences and large battles were amazing back in 2003 and it is still amazing today.
Sadly the game is too short. I was having a blast and then realized that the game was over. After beating the game, I was wondering if they ran out of budget or something and wanted more.
Well its now 10 years from my last game and the original developers have created their own studios called Blackbird Interactive and is now making another game...a Free To Play game intended for Social Networks...ugh...hopefully Gearbox would hire these guys and create another Homeworld sequel.
