Hot wheels stunt racer might not be up to the standards of Need for speed , or forza , or project gotham , but it does not try to be .

The cars look just like the Hot wheels toys , with a short and stubby like appearance , glossy bright colors and hotwheel sticker decals. The Graphics are pretty good and surpised me , by what i had read in magazine reviews. the levels look as good as the cars with bright , glossy and fun designs.
The gameplay is great . Its arcade racing ! bit like Cart racing , so you have to expect fun racing with only a couple of buttons to worry about. you have the gas , brake , and powerslide ( great feature that has your hot wheels car go onto two side wheels). Lots of traps like Bombs( that affect your steering) and in the later stages there isnt any sides to the road , so you will fall off into nothingness , if you arnt careful. Flames (turbos) give you a much needed boost that you can store until you finaly need it . Speed jumps that speed you up into the air and let you rotate in any direction you want until you come crashing down to the track again.
There are also some Anti Gravity track peices , that look and feel great to ride on.
The Main mode is the Stunt challenge Tv show . you go from area to area with about 9 challenges each on a different course for that area's theme.
the racing is fun and fast , the stunt modes are fun and high flying , and there are a few twists that combine racing and stunts.
The Difficulty starts off very easy but you will have to pay attention in the later stages . every racing/stunt/target track looks and feels great to play on.
Best part of this mode is that you unlock more cars , if your a hot wheels fan , you will be happy about the selection of cars you will be collection via this mode. You also get sticker/decals and Wheel types to customize your cars in the garage mode . It is worth going through this mode a couple of times to unlock everything , and its such a fun game , you will keep picking it up time after time , that is if you want to have a break from the serious racers.
Sound is exellent , no real bands , but the music does suit the arcade/cart racer feel. The race commentator is too extreme for his own good , but he wont get too annoying.
Overall this game was a nice suprise and kept me going until i unlocked evrything witch took about 6 hours , but the great gameplay keeps me coming back , and the customization (allthough not up to par to the Undergorund series) can make the cars fresh for everytime you want a race.
