After 6 years of waiting Master Chief finally returns in Halo Infinite. While Halo Infinite looks to be full of the classic action fans of the series know and love, this will be a "spiritual reboot" of the franchise according to 343 studio boss Bonnie Ross, with big changes to the campaign and multiplayer. In the campaign Master Chief is exploring Zeta Halo, a key location in the Halo lore, with a story that puts more emphasis on Master Chief than previous titles. Notably, Halo Infinite will be the first game in the series with a fully open world campaign breaking from its traditional mission-based linear structure. On the multiplayer side, Halo has gone free-to-play for the first time ever bringing the iconic multiplayer battles to anyone with an Xbox or PC. Halo Infinite's full release is slated for December 8, 2021 on Xbox and PC - but players can download the multiplayer component today.
