An under-appreciated LEGEND!!

This game received a 5.6 from Gamespot, and I think that this is an OUTRAGE. Hydro Thunder is the greatest arcade game in existance, and while throwing it into the N64 lineup does give it alot more great competition, it is still in the top 10, if not 5, games in it's playing field. sure, the graphics aren't as good as they are on the "Disc Systems" of the generation, but who cares? The game plays smoother and less choppy, even in huge jumps and when multiple moving boats are onscreen at once.
In Racing Games, i can not think of one game to compare to the sheer FUN of Hydro Thunder. Sure, there's games such as Burnout, Motorstorm, or DiRT that came out more recently and are amazing, but although burnouts crashes are Jaw-dropping, Motorstorm's graphics and car-fall-apart-while-driving way is absolutely amazing, and DiRT is hyper realistic and cool, none of these are just as FUN to play as Hydro Thunder. The huge jumps, the hilarious remarks from the "announcer" , the great scenes in tracks where the police will start chasing after the boats, only for you to boost at them and send a 40x bigger boat crashing away, same thing with the pirates, and the sheer cinematic awe that comes from the bonus levels. I mean, what racing games have you going down the Nile River while falling through the water from dimension to dimension, or going through a sunken New York with falling pieces of rubble crashing down?
Hydro Thunder, that's which one. If you haven't played this game, find a way. Buy it at a yardsale, Emulate it, i don't care. you just absolutely have to play this game if you have EVER enjoyed racing games, action games, or even just video games. 10/10
