This is one of the more interesting rpgs ive played for a while. It doesn't take itself seriously in the slightest and is mainly about the jokes and skits which are fairly funny. If you played trinity universe then you may notice a lot of similarities to that game, including that most of the enemies where ported straight from that game as have some of the backgrounds for at least one dungeon and it feels like playing trinity universe -which i enjoyed and got all the trophies on-but the random floating objects have been replaced with standard D-crawling. So far the game is good but not perfect as there are one or two minor bugs i hope they will make a point of sending patches to fix-the auto play not working is a little annoying. Though the D-crawling has been varied with each person having a special skill, Neptune can destroy obstructions, Compa can call out monsters for a 4 round survival battle that grands you temporary free run, and IF gives you a search function for hidden items. Another good feature is the combo system you can set what move follows which button presses and even name the 4 button combo. One of the sad things is you can't sell items to the shops but that kinda makes sense as they never run out of the stuff they have and you can't sell them anything they don't have -the rest you want to keep. Another nice addition is that the characters have multiple costumes to change their appearance - which is nice, and you can use your own pictures in some of the special attacks so past a pic of one of your favorite games characters or a personal pic. Overall its a fun game and you hop between 4 lands each based off a console ps3 wii xbox or sega neptune (which never made it). So if your up for some game company related jokes and a fairly good RPG i recommend it.
Hm, I'll have to first say I don't think Neptunia deserves what it got by Gamespot. Opinions, yea yea. Anyway, I personally thought the game was fun, despite it's flaws. Gameplay The gameplay was nothing amazing, it ... Read Full Review
This game can be fun to downright frustrating. If you have never played before, I suggest you wait till the game reaches a cheaper buy. As for me, I bought the game brand new, all $60 of it. A bit too much in hindsight. ... Read Full Review
