Lots of weapons and plenty of zombies make this Indie game a must have for 360 owners.

I MAED A GAM3 W1TH ZOMB1ES!!!1 (or Zombies as I'll now refer to it as) doesn't set out to push graphics, to showcase amazing new concepts to gameplay, or really push the bar in any way.

Instead it's meant to show that a simple game can be extremely fun, especially if you've got a friend gunning down the masses with you.

Set as a top down shooter, you find yourself in a wide open area with no obstacles or anything of the sort. Within seconds hordes of zombies start coming straight up from the ground itself and all are intent on eating your brains. You simply survive for as long as you can (or until the music stops and the game is over). Simple concept right?

Just like the concept the controls are simple as well. Left analog stick moves your character around and the right analog stick fires in whichever direction you are press. Again incredibly simple but it gives way to some very entertaining gameplay.

As you (and your friend if you have one) dispatch zombies you'll notice they start dropping a wide variety of power ups, ranging from anything to additional lives, powerful weapons, and even temporary invincibility. They are quick to pick up as you just simply walk over them and work instantly.

The extra weapons have limited ammo but you find yourself finding so many that you are rarely on the default weapon. The weapons themselves range from anywhere from a shotgun, machine gun, laser beam, rocket launcher, flame thrower, and some weird star shooting thing that is pretty cool. With the constant switching of weapons you'll never find yourself relying on one weapon to hold out for as long as you can. On top of that you can only hold one weapon at a time.

The weapons themselves all feel just right and you'll quickly start learning which you like and which you don't. Teaming up makes this even better when you and a friend work together and use different weapons to aid each other. My friend and I were quite fond of the shotgun/machine gun combo.

There is a score and that is where competition comes in, from setting high scores to competing with the player sitting next to you, this definitely gives this one that old school arcade feel when you are hoping to break your buddy's high score he set just the prior. And I can't forget that in true classic gaming nature if you get hit once you die and loss a life.

The longer you hold out, the more interesting things get. From tougher zombies to weirder enemies that I can't begin to describe, the game really gets challenging just a few minutes in. Not only are the enemies getting tougher but the stage itself starts to change, with lights flashing and things being displayed on the ground for you viewing pleasure. Slowly it becomes harder and harder to just simply watch for movement and it makes it alot easier to have a zombie sneak up on you and start munching on your delicious brains.

Along with the enemies getting tougher and the stage becoming more like a dance floor than a zombie killing arena, the music also gets pretty good as well. The further you get, the more you hear, the better it is. The song was also created by the game's developer and I assure you it is just as original as the title of this great game. Not only is the music rather catchy (I found myself with it stuck in my head) but it's also rather funny, the lyrics basically explain that the developer "Made a game with zombies in it, it's only a dollar, hope you like it and that you wanna buy it".

One last thing I'd like to bring up about this game is that it's rather comparable to games that just launched recently. No it's not the next Left 4 Dead, but it certainly does compare very well to Konami's Zombie Apocalypse and at a fraction of the cost too, this is definitely the better deal.

So if you're a fan of zombies, lots of weapons, some killer music, and having a good time then this one is definitely for you.
