I-Ninja is a straight up platform game, pure and simple. However, within this run of the mill premise, there is a load of variety, such as hilarious and enjoyable Monkey Ball esque scenes. The advancement in the game is by "grades": small markers so to speak. Every mission you complete gives you one grade, and you need x amout to get to the next hub area. There are six hub areas all together, each with its own selection of missions. To begin a mission, you simply march up to a door and enter. Once your in a mission, the game really shines. You can get explosive darts and throwing stars to decimate the assorted enemies. Also, as you slice and dice your way through enemies, your power gauge will fill up, giving you acess to special moves and abilities. The mid-air fights with the higher-ranking enemies are also very enjoyable. The only problem I see is that the checkpoints are fairly far apart, but not so bad that it brings on frustration. In the end, it's no Ratchet and Clank, but the graphics are superb, the enviorments are varied, the characters are funny, and the game is long. Lastly, you can probably find this game for bellow $10 in many locations, so please pick it up, as it deserves a much bigger audience.
