You might be thinking another kid friendly game based on a movie uh oh. Well you see Ice Age 2 is actually no that bad. Let me explain.

Well first off lets see what the gameplay is like. Pretty good actually. I mean yeah it's targeted at little kids but it is fun all the same. It's simple platforming fun at its best. Which is great 'cause it was proved a long time ago that simple platforming was great (think super Mario and Rachet and Clank). But all the same it has been done thousands of times before so it's not revolutionary. You know collect all the collectibles and perform simple attacks.

Well the main character of the game, Scrat the cute little saber toothed squirrel thing controls very well. The controls are tight and the varios attacks are simple to pull off.

As for the graphics, You're not going to be disappointed. There probably some of the best in the genre and definetly the best for a movie tie in game. All the characters have been done very well and the backrounds aren't as great but still good.

The sound is well, sound. I mean very good. The voices are from the actors of the movie (which will put a big smile on the faces of Ice Age fans). Scrat has lots of little expressions like he wheezes and puffs whenever he moves. And the music is kind off backround noise that you don't seem to notice until you get to the mini-games where it changes.

The only downside to Ice Age is that it's pretty short. I have not yet completed it but you get one bonus feature per level and there are two left to unlock after four levels and other reviews said it had only six levels as well. And also it's easy which I don't find a problem but very hard-core gamers will be annoyed at this.

Finally. This is a great simple platformer that is a must for Ice Age fans and for little kids. And also people who are rubbish or are casual gamers should think about this title as well . I'm not hard-core but I play games almost every day and I relly like this game, although it's not every bodies cup of tea. And also if you are a platformer perfectionist stay clear as it's predictible in what you must do to advance.

In short, good for some, great for others, not so great if you insist on perfection.
