One of my fondest memories from my arcade days as a child was playing 1942. 1942 was a top down scroller in which you were an airplane shooting and bombing varies baddies. This game is similar in that you're an airplane still but the difficulty level of this game is very high. It's a good thing it is very difficult because it is also very short. Easy controls with one button to shoot, one button for your special attack and one button to switch colors. Various enemies are either black or white and you have the ability to absorb their bullets by matching the color of them. All in all worth buying, maybe not worth 50 dollars anymore but if you can find it cheaper pick it up.
