Despite what the Gamespot publishers had to say about this game, I really enjoyed it. There were times when I was up until 2:30 in the morning trying to complete just 'one more level'. Its like a good book, you just can't put it down. I personally did not come across any of the technical glitches documented. Perhaps it was my setup ( Xbox v1.6, game running from hard-drive not CD-ROM). I felt the gameplay was very, very good. The action of the game, overall, was very involving. At ever turn I just had to see what was around the next corner. The challenges of the levels I felt were just right, some harder than others, some easier. At time the gameplay could have been harder. There were times when a puzzle contained numerous 'pieces' and the solution to all of the 'pieces' was the same; a bit monotonous. Other levels were so hard that I played them numerous times, even after several breaks from the game. Perhaps it was my ability or the fact that Indy had to be in just the right spot, but those 'double whip' actions got the best of me. If you like a game with a lot of firepower, this game is not for you. If you're a fan of the movies, you'll recall that Indy only carries a Revolver with 6 shots. Save those shots for when you REALLY need them. In the first half of the game, firepower plays a more prominent role and Indy has the ability to find and utilize other weapons found through out the levels. In the later half of the game, you will not find any modern weapons, nor do you need them. You'll have to use your hand-to-hand skills much more and/or utilize other inventory items. I'm not going to comment much on the graphics. Yes, this game was released in 2003, and there have been quite a few graphics innovations since them, so this is not fault of LucasArts. I felt the graphics did not impede the game play, nor am I such as hard core gamer that graphics means everything to a game (unless done very poorly!). Sound. If you've seen the movies, you've heard the music. You can take clues from the music however. There are several levels that you can utilize the music as audible clues, which I really liked. Conclusion: Just have fun! If you want to spent time commenting on how graphics and music are done in a game, then you're not playing, which is the main purpose. I really enjoyed this game. The story line is a bit weak, but I enjoyed all of the challenging fast pace action. I'd really recommend to game for anyone how is just looking for some really good and challenging gameplay.
