This game has enough good things going for it that allow you to forgive its short comings.

User Rating: 8.5 | Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings WII
After playing Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb I couldn't wait to play Staff of Kings. This game has done a lot to try and make you feel like you are Indiana Jones. Every aspect of this game involves you moving the Wii Remote and Nunchuk in various ways. Some times these controls work really well, but there were some controls that I had a huge problem with. Overall you will be moving your arms a lot during the six hours it take to beat this game.

In terms of graphics this game has serious problems. The graphics for this game resemble what you would find on the PS2. This is a huge disappointment, for Wii owners who know that the Wii can make some great looking games, like Super Mario Galaxy and Sonic and the Secret Rings. The game does, however, sound great. The music for this game exactly what you would find in an Indiana Jones movie, including the John Williams theme. The whip and punching sound effects sound great too.

This game uses a variety of motion controls making this game a waggle game from start to finish. Some of the motion controls are a lot of fun. I never got tired of using the whip attacks and driving the vehicles. The exploration aspect of this game was very well done and offered some challenging puzzles to solve. This game does lack in terms of combat, unfortunately. Unlike Emperor's Tomb, you can only use your gun in certain arcade style locations. While these segments are fun, it would have been great to use you gun during the hand to hand combat. During hand to hand combat, instead of the enemies being spread out throughout the level, you are trapped in a closed environment, with no health items, and what seems to be an endless wave of enemies.

Bottom line, the combat and graphics for this game are terrible. But the explorations, music, and bonus features are definetly this game strongest points. There are tones of bonus content to unlock including the PC game Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. This game does have some issues holding it back and there is room for improvement, but this game is still a lot of fun to play and is worth at least a rental.
