Overhyped, but still innovative and fun, Indigo Prophecy is one of a kind.

Indigo Prophecy is a great concept. You're basically playing a movie. And for the most part, it works well. You play as the main characters in the plot: a couple of police detectives, and the murderer they are hunting down. Instead of traditional action, you make key decisions in how the story will advance. You decide things like what questions to ask, and how to answer other people's questions, indicating your choice by moving the left analog stick in a certain direction. Any fighting or other action that is required of your character will mean that you have to move one or both of the analog sticks in the direction indicated... kind of like a rhythm game. This can get a bit tedious and annoying.

The controls could be better... they are awkward, which gets in the way of gameplay sometimes, making simple tasks a chore. The graphics are a bit outdated. The voice acting is good, but sometimes a little unconvincing. As for the story... even though it's a bit far-fetched, it's probably enough to encourage you to see the game through to the end. The entire game will only take a few hours to beat.

All in all, it's an okay game, a little overhyped, but maybe the first in a long list of games that play like movies.
