A very new experience... worth playing not for the sake of the action but more for the story. Shame it isn't a movie....
However, I was disappointed with the graphics on the PS2 as it was kinda laggy during action scenes. The guns in particular have bad firing animations. No flash, no smoke, and the bullet doesn't look like one. The game plot unfortunately relied too much on the conversations and if you fail to ask the other party a particular subject, the story continues until it seems that something is missing. For example, Carla walks to old beggar lying outside Doc's Diner and talks to him, and if Carla asks for his name,he would tell her he's Bogart and until late in the game where Carla and that groovy looking beggar guy leads Lucas to Bogart's Lair. How on earth would Carla know Bogart's name if she didn't ask in the first place? That's something that needed to be taken into consideration. Background info is lacking too, on Jade. Who is she? Where did she come from? How did she end up in the orphanage? They are well provided on the web but it should be mentioned in the game somehow. Lastly, the ending boss fight is just too simple, no catch, nothing. I think this is what keeps the game from getting a higher score, otherwise i don't see any reason why it shouldn't be a classic.
