Simply Fantastic

User Rating: 10 | inFamous 2 PS3
As I finished the first inFAMOUS for the 10th time, I pre-ordered the sequel with high hopes. There were numerous minor issues with the first and I hoped Sucker Punch addressed them, expanded Cole's abilities, and created a more engaging story. Needless to say, I had sky-high hopes. I am proud to inform you that this game fulfills ALL these expectations. Many minor problems (like the static thrusters, visuals, climbing ability, bland-ness) were immediately addressed and improved upon. Although you get most of your abilities stripped from you at the beginning of the game, which SUCKS, you still feel like the strongest guy in town. Buildings came to life, people were rememberable, powers became godly, Karma gained an expanded role, and overall, this game was simply the first on steroids. Many people complain when a sequel uses the same formula as the first but, who cares? It works, and it's fun. Besides, everything is improved and the first was a blast, so quit complaining. The addition of Kuo and Nix was a much needed enhancement to the Karma system. It felt like the Devil and an Angel in each ear telling you what to do. Very cool. InFAMOUS 2 is a great game all around, but the "half as long" campaign (I thought the game was significantly shorter) reaches it's zenith in either of the "twice as bright" endings. I finally felt the impact of stopping all those muggings or stealing all the blast shards in both of the endings. All in all, any PS3 owner should play this game. 10/10
