A shockingly good sequel to one of the best third person games on the PS3!

Infamous 2, Sucker Punch's sequel to possibly one of the best third person games on the PS3, is a more than worthy to follow in the footsteps left by Infamous. While the graphics don't seem to have improved greatly from the original this by no means subtracts from the beauty of the game, the graphics used in the original open world adventure were (and in many ways still are) amazing and Infamous 2 is just as spectacular to look at as you climb up every and any building or structure in the game. Just like in the original Cole can shoot electricity from his hands in the form of bolts or 'grenades' to fry your enemies but this time you've got the added addition of rockets (which once upgraded properly can actually become homing rockets…..I know it's amazing!!) as well as an electrified rod which allows you to do some amazingly cool looking melee finishers. But that's not all, once again you are able to choose whether to play as the benevolent hero or the evil doer however this time you can solidify your decision by merging your powers with one of two new characters, depending who you choose to side with will decide what new powers you gain. If you choose to be a good guy you get to use ice powers but if you decide to be evil then you get fire powers both of which are awesome (although I have to admit I preferred the evil powers :p). Saying that this isn't just a run in guns blazing game….ok in fairness it is for the most part but there are some bit (especially on hard) where it's better to try and have a plan of attack.
Infamous 2 even has the added extra of a multiplayer mode where you get to create or edit your own levels with enemies and specific objectives to complete. I didn't dwell on this aspect of the game for too long I have to admit but when I did it was fun to play online levels from various PSN users but I have to admit I'm not very creative and so got bored of the level creation rather quickly.
The story in Infamous 2, while great, isn't quite as good as the original, it starts off really well but as you get to the end of the game they throw in a load of twists which just seem to complicate things and produces a few inconsistencies, saying that it's not a horrible ending and even leaves the Infamous series open for a possible third instalment.
Overall I'd have to recommend Infamous 2 to every third person game lover, it's a great game and a lot of fun to play given the fact that you can play once as a good guy and then again as the bad guy and watch how certain aspects of the story change based on your decisions, brilliant.
