One of the most fun, addictive, immersive games that I have played to date.

User Rating: 9 | inFamous PS3
inFamous is a game that is pure, overpowered, destructive fun. Add the fact that it has an amazing story, interesting and differing characters, a huge open world city and cool ways to get around, and fun Karma choices, you have a game that almost can't be bad. Almost. Unfortunately, the only real flaw with inFamous is the graphics. Although they aren't that bad, ( not as much with me because I have a 50 inch 1080p TV) they aren't that good either. I would have thought inFamous would be perfect if Sucker Punch had spent some time polishing the graphics. The comic strip cutscenes are great, but the in game cutscenes aren't so amazing, and the character's expressions are choppy. I applaud Sucker Punch's Efforts on the animations, they are quite good. Cole looks great moving around, and the pedestrians have a multitude of gestures to display. There are a couple of gameplay glitches that you will probably encounter throughout playing the game, but they are only minor annoyances. Also, I wish that Empire City had more original buildings, because it's a real downer seeing the same building in two districts, but there are still some awesome settings nonetheless. The powers are a blast to play with, and there is a good upgrade menu. The missions are extremely well done, and there is a huge variety of missions, from rescuing a medic's brother from a gang, to satellite uplink time trials, to destroying an armoured bus. Also there are special good/evil missions that are the really fun. Another fun aspect of inFamous is the karma choices. The moral choices are sometimes deep, although the choices are made ethically clear with only Good/Evil options, and the decisions you made will impact the world around you and affect the powers you can use. The amount of interaction that goes on between the world and you makes it quite worth while to play the game. In the end, inFamous is game that you truly feel powerful and a part of ,and the story will draw you in, and despite its few problems, it is definitely one of the most fun games out there. It would most definitely be a huge error in judgement for you not to go get it.
