Infamous is quite possibly one of my most favorite game this generation.
Story: I kind of already explain the setting but here is in more depth. You play as Cole, a simple bike courier who is a total badass at parkour. He is just running getting ready to turn in the package when a strange man tell him to open it. Cole does in the end and there was an explosion. The whole city have lost power and many died in the blast. But something strange, he now have electric power. The story then have many plot twist and turns that make me oogle the tv for hours. I'm serious, it was amazing. This might even be the best aspect of the game.
Gameplay: Cole have electricity power so expect electrcity gameplay.....no duh. So there will be a lot of shooting and grinding and draining electrcity from cars. It is quite interesting and innovative doing so many different styles of gameplay. You can level up moves and everyone have their own preferences. Besides from the combat, we have karma choices. You can be good or evil and it changes a lot. I find good to be more maneuverable and evil to be stronger. This also lead to replay ability to see what happen in the story if it's the other way around. This is a great feature because it's not the same thing on a second run, it makes you feel like going through again a completely different feel. Now my main complaint.... they're are quite a few bugs. Seem like it's common place on open world video games.
Graphics: This is a mix reaction. I loved the setting, it's dark and cold looking and look like crap, Cole looked badass and the building view is crumpling looking. Now, in my opinion, the character model are ugly. I get it, it's a poor area but man they look dull and boring and have no emotion by their model.
Music: The music is good, about above average. I really enjoyed the credit song so check it out. BUT, they're almost no music in the game and it bugs me. I would love a song to play when I'm running the city. The sound of Cole running is burned to my brain. They're might be only 5 tracks, I am not sure how much but it really felt like that's all that played. They are mainly on bosses which are good. But not amazing, and when you have only a few tracks, that might be an issue.
Replayability: This game have lots of replayability because of it's karma system and amazing gameplay. I have played this game twice and I loved it, which is hard because I rarely play games a second time. There are some people who love it so much, they replayed it 5 times, now that is dedication. In a 20-40 hour game, that is quite impressive and worth a bang for your buck.
Conclusion: GET THIS GAME! It's an amazing game that deserve recognition so GET THIS GAME! It's only worth $20 now and it have great story, gameplay, music, and replayability. You will thank me.
