Infected has the makings of a fun shooter, but it all gets kind of old a little too fast

I expected Infected to the PSP what Dead Rising was and is to the Xbox 360. I have not played Dead Rising yet, but I can tell you that it is most likely better than Infected. Infected has a crappy storyline that can only come from a crappy zombie movie that cannot even last in a theatre for more than two weeks. The premise is this. You are a New York cop whose blood has such a strong immunity to the virus that your blood makes the zombie's blood boil and then they blow up. After learning this a scientist comes up with bullets that can contain your blood. So you have to first weaken the zombie by shooting it with a normal gun and then kill it with the Viral Gun. The game seems like all fun and games as it is a fast paced shooter for the PSP that controls pretty well. The sad thing is each mission is about five minutes long if that, and the objective is pretty much always the same thing, kill all the Infected in one area, then you are done with the mission. Well the gameplay is a little too simple and repetative the game's story does offer some humor which for the most part is actually pretty darn funny. I will admit that even though this game did not satisfy me the gamer as a game, it is pretty fun to go after Santa Clauses that have been infected with the virus. Graphically this game looks pretty darn good for a PSP title at its time of release. It isnt the best looking game out there now, but it is not the ugliest game either. Being a decent shooter this game may have been a hit if it was released at the launch of the PSP seeing as how people may look past the repetativness that kicks in at oh, level three. If you are looking for some fun fast paced zombie action, this just isnt the game. However if you feel like it is your moral duty to play this game than rent it, but by no means purchase it at full price.
