Although short and with some flaws, I loved it, even if it as a very typical save the world and fall in love story!
The fact that they didn't take the time to match the voice recordings with the character's mouths is probably what is the worst about the game. What happened tri-ace? Its sadly very distracting and ruins quite a few scenes that would have had some real...substance. Boo at tri-ace. Boo.
The music is great. Granted, theres some parts that are not so great, but not to the point where they get annoying. I often found myself letting the game run while making some food to listen to certain songs (Kolton, Port Zala in despair, etc).
The voice acting is good, and there are some really talented people on the credits list for the voices. Some lines are awkward, but I get the impression Tri-Ace told them to try and say their lines in sync with the japanese mouth movements, which they weren't going to update for the english release. A real shame. More boos at Tri-Ace.
The length is unfortunate, but thankfully there are two additional hard modes to play through again after beating the game on normal (hard, then infinity). The Seraphic Gate, an abbreviated world of higher difficulty, is also available after beating the game. I know that description is vague, but I don't want to elaborate further.
As someone who's not overly picky about her RPGs and just wants to watch a nice, epic, save the world while falling in love story, I really loved this. Yeah, its cliche. Its pretty much your cookie cutter RPG. But I still came away really liking the characters and their struggles.
