Some were saying Oblivion, I say 3rd person, point and click, Castlevania. Infinity Blade is amazing and innovative.

ChAIR has done it. The long awaited app that was teased a bit by Epic's Unreal Engine Citadel has finally come, and the product is absolutely solid. In defense of all the hype, the game, Infinity Blade, is a RPG, but perhaps not the one most were expecting.
I really felt like I was playing Castlevania, or maybe a really good, non side-scrolling alternative to it. The game takes play all within the castle of a ultra powerful god king, who sits around and waits for somebody who is good enough to battle through all his minions, just to die at his feet.
The beautiful element to this game, is that you do just that. You die at this god king's feet, and about 20 years later, your son who is now played by you will come and try to avenge your death, most likely to die again. If you look at the top screenshot there, that is me at level 13 all decked out with my weapons and armor. That is also me on my 4th playthrough. So, about 80 years after the first playthrough. If you are wondering, you keep your dead characters' gear, so you get better and better.
Infinity Blade is a point and click rpg with amazing real-time combat involving blocking, parrying, dodging with strategic attacks. There are a lot of weapons and armor to choose from, and like some other RPG's of times past, you actually gain experience from your gear, so you don't want to wear the same sword the whole game, because A it is going to be inferior soon, and B you wont level any more.
The spell casting mechanic in Infinity Blade is similar to other RPG's who have used a rune/sigil drawing technique to cast a certain spell. It depends on which spells you have equipped through a ring.
All together, the game is extremely fun, and the innovative game mechanic of the single castle, multi generational RPG is brilliant. If you like RPG's, Castlevania, Demon Souls, or beautiful games than pay the $5.99. I never thought a game developer could make millions from a mobile game. I can totally see how at this point.

Note: On my blog tekgnostic.com, I gave this a 4.5 stars, but with the promise of a multiplayer update coming soon, with new weapons and armor, and a new zone to play in, I feel this game is a perfect 5 in the long run. And only a handful of games deserve a perfect score.
