This game will keep you hooked as you create player after player. If not for a few minor bugs, it would be a classic.

I've always loved the "Create a Player" and "Create a Team" functions of various sports games, especially baseball games. So this game quite simply had my name written all over it. It is somewhat easy overall. Playing on the "normal" level will consistently yield a hall of fame career if you are careful to balance your strength and flexibility training with workouts, making sure to focus more on flexibility as your player ages. The one main problem I have is that when you retire from one career and start the next, it instantly puts your new player in the game with another draft class, even if you retired in the middle of July. I would much prefer if the game made you hold off until the next draft of the next year and would start you at the beginning of the next year so your player doesn't end up starting with a very short season.

To start a player that begins at the same time of month where your first player started, you must start a new career entirely in the year 2003 (when the game is set to start.)

The other issue is a glaring bug as a pitcher. You will be shuffled between AA and AAA with the game constantly forcing you to hear the annoying ringtone as your player experiences extreme mood swings as they go between the two minor league affiliates.

The game overall delivers what is promised. You are a minor league player who works (and drinks) his way to the majors. It'd be nice if the game were a little more serious, though. This current version is like a mix of fantasy role-playing and baseball, where you use your money from your salary to buy bats that give you large increases in various attributes.

Overall, a nice game and I would recommend it to those who don't mind when graphics take a backseat to play-ability.
