IRON HELIX - 1993 (PC) :

It's adventure/survival horror game with obvious scifi layers, as Earth is entangled in a "coldwar" with an alien race.

An Earth ship named Jeremiah O'brien is taken over by a virus and all of it's crew becomes infected and mutated/dead.

A separate ship-the Indiana, is sent to investigate the occurrences on the infected vessel.

With this story set up, the player enters and plays through the game as a remotely controlled zoological scientific robot!

As the robot, you must collect uncontaminated DNA samples of the ruined crew members in order to access secure areas of the ship, as well as operate navigational ports and executive ship commands.

Now, with the crew mutated their DNA is no longer recognized by their Security Drone and it hunts them down to the death. It is also hunting you (the zoological robot).

This game's title refers to the name of an ultimate weapon that is onboard the infected ship.

For a release in '93, this game's graphics are actually quite polished. Nothing like today's glossy productions, but well honed for the time.

The controls are a bit tricky to grasp immediately, but once the player is in that comfort zone it's smooth sailing.

If you can find this disc give it a go!
