Another superhero game in the trash!

User Rating: 5 | Iron Man PS2
Once again, another movie, another game. Usually movie based games are terrible, but does this one shine or fall into the dump like the others.

STORY: As always Iron Man has the same storyline just like the movies, so if you saw the movie the story is not impressive or different. The story is about Tony Starks, a famous weapon engineer, gets kidnapped by a group of terrorists who he finds out that they are his best customers. He also finds out that he needs a battery pack inside of him that keeps him alive from the explosion from the terrorists. Later on he makes a portable kind that glows, and looks very stylish. Anyways, the terrorists want Tony to build a missile and do it fast. Instead of building this missile, Tony invents a robot suit that he escapes with and came back into the city. After back in the business, Tony has decided to destroy all his weapons and rebuild Mark III Iron Man to save the day. It's a typical story but the game doesn't fold it nicely. Some people might not even now what the battery thing is if they didn't watch the movie.

DESIGN: The controls are basic, L1 lifts you into the sky, L2 makes you fall from the clouds, R2 makes you fly like superman, R1 is to use your weapons, triangle is to change your weapons, square and circle is to punch and kick, the D-pad is to switch your stations, and the right analog- stick is for moving the character same thing goes for the left instead it pans the camera. Iron Man has a way different game system I've ever seen before, for example when your armor section blinks red you go to that station and recover it with the D- pad. The stations are weapon, armor, flying jets, and even. Even evens out those stations to normal all the time. In the game you can also get different suits, art pictures, videos, and weapons. Here you can use the weapon till it upgrades to make it powerful or make long range. The suits are effective, and the missions sometimes link to the story. In the game you also have to destroy all of the missing weapons and destroy them to get achievements, or more art pictures. The music sounds great but the graphics are hideous, and some of the cut scenes can look ugly.

GAMEPLAY: Iron Man falls apart because of the gameplay, because there is only punch and weapons that's it. Also if you're fighting a boss it can be too hard or easy, it doesn't match. Some bosses are almost impossible and you have to shot him from far range where you can barley see him. If you're close to a helicopter or Tank you can perform a fast move type button theme such as from God of War, or Resident Evil, these aren't fun and can be very annoying

Iron Man is a good and also isn't one too. It depends, if you want to play a boring, unfair game Iron Man is for you, but if not I'd put this garbage to the dump with the others.
