Jade Empire takes place in a mystical, asian kind of setting in the, of course, "Jade Empire." You start off by picking a character from about 6. They all have their different strengths and abilities, and you should pick according to what kind of character you want to develop. If you want to do martial arts the whole game, then you would want a fast or strong character etc. The story is about you fulfilling your destiny, which I won't give away, but it is a very rich story full of detail. The game feels different from other bioware RPG's such as Kotor because it doesn't have as much depth like creating a character and customizing everything about him, or upgrading weapons and things like that. It is also different in that the combat is real-time instead of turn-based. So that being said, the game is very simple for any player to just pick up and play. Some of you action junkie people may not like Jade Empire due to it's lengthy dialogue sequences, but I feel that is what makes the game so great. Gameplay: The controls are very simple and easy to learn. Graphics: Some of the best you are going to find on the XBOX are found in Jade Empire. Beautiful worlds with lots of details make you feel like you are there. Sound: The music sounds oriental like it should and it really helps to set the atmosphere. The voice acting is good, and the words go right along with the character's mouths. Value: Once you get about three hours into the game, all you want to do is keep playing it, you must force yourself to drop the controller. Jade Empire is a must-have for any XBOX owner. If you are an RPG fan and don't have an XBOX, I suggest getting one just to play this game.
