Bioware is known for some great RPGs. The first one that comes to mind is KOTOR. It really gave you choices that other games didn't. You could be bad or good. It was a pretty good RPG. Now Bioware gives us Jade Empire. Just an awesome game. Storyline: Basically its just a fresh coat of paint on a old concept. Basically your master from your village, Two Rivers is kidnapped. You have to go and find him and ultimately save the Jade Empire. The story gets better, but I can't ruin it for you. Graphics: This game is beautiful. The animations are great and the effects on your styles just down right look cool. The lip movement matches well when speaking. Its also the little things that make this game look beautiful. Like how the grass moves when move over it. The characters look diverse and the huge areas you'll be moving in are breath taking. The cutscenes are nice and this whole ancient China style works well. There are however, so flaws. The NPC models are used over for other characters and the ones you can't talk to sometimes just look ugly. Also when you look at the water, you can reflections for some of the things nearby, but you can't see your character. Still the graphics for Jade Empire won't dissapoint. Gameplay: This game is an action RPG. So its fast paced and it really feels seemless. You can map your favorite fighting styles to the d-pad. Just like in KOTOR you can choose to be good or bad. But it runs deeper then that. Its not your simple good or bad, its more like beliefs. The many styles in this game are cool and its fun using these against the enemies. You really feel like a martial arts master. There are lots of side quests and some mini games that is reminescant to games like Ikaruga. However, this game is pretty short for an RPG. You'll probably beat this game around the 20 hour mark and the last few chapters burn by. But even with some of the problems Jade Empire is still fun. Audio: Jade Empire has some of the best audio ever. The music fits right and I even found myself humming them to myself. The voice acting is amazing some of the things the people will say can be hilarious. You'll just love hearing Henpecked Ho's stories. But just like the character models the voices get used over again, but it doesn't drag the game down. Still this game has amazing audio. Overall: This game will not dissapoint you. You'll probably be playing this game for a 2nd run just so that you can play as the other side. This game is super fun which is important for a game. The problems in this game are reasonable. Simply put, this game is amazing and if you enjoy RPGs, you'll enjoy this game.
