No reason to keep replaying the game, it's twenty hours of bad story at most...
The story as I've been saying isn't that great. You are a student at a martial arts school. When you beat a man named Gao the Lesser your master wants to talk to you about your past, how he found you. When you learn of your past and being a spirit monk you then must get the Dragon Amulet. It holds the major storyline of the whole Jade Empire game which is pretty much bull... When you finally go through a bunch of pointless quest that leave you through hours a boring and cheesy conversations you arrive to the Palace of the Jade Empire. You free your master and then he turns out to be an evil old son of a **** The game from there is basically beating your master. It seems to speed up from there, as if trying to make up for the time spent for the slowness in the beginning. You finally meet your master where you can choose three endings, good, evil, or statue. The statue ending is like neutral excpt your a giant statue at the end.
The parts I liked were the choices of good and evil. Like in Bioware's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic they let you choose what side you want to be on. The only problem with this is the same thing, nothing really matters until the ending. Your choices don't change your path until the final section of the story. The game would be much better if you could earlier become evil or good, even neutral.
Another addition to this game that would make it better is customization. All you do is select a character and rename them. The fighting system could use some improvements and the story.
The graphics are pretty good though. The creatures were unique and mystical. The game actually set you in the place of a mystical chinese era.
Another cool little addition was the language they had created. They had people come over and create the language. This vocal becomes quite annoying though when you don't feel like reading subtitles.
The game makes its self easy as well. No bonus features are given to you if you play on the harder difficulties so there for you're left with only needing to play on the easiest difficulty.
Jade Empire leaves no room for replay, the story is the same all the time except for the ending. I give it a 7 out of 10.
The Good
Unique fighting style
Unique language
The Bad
Fighting is dull and too easy
The story is a bit cheesy
The game leaves no reason for replay
The language gets annoying
There is little customization
