Jade Empire is one of the first original IP's brought to fruition by Bioware and by all accounts, it's a resounding success. This plays very much like Knights of the Old Republic, which if you've played, you know is not a bad thing. A classic example of the action-rpg genre, Jade Empire's setting is probably the main draw. This vision of ancient China is a joy to behold, especially in progessive scan. Gameplay wise, this almost feels like a beat-em-up at times. This is mostly due to the surprisingly shallow RPG elements which are quite streamlined compared to some of its peers. But is it fun? You bet. There are many styles and weapons to play with, and the engaging story is told through some top-notch voice acting. But be warned... prepare for some looong loading times.
