A joy to play
Gameplay: I enjoyed venturing around the world of ancient China. Such a different experience from the typical fantasy (not that I don't love that too). But this was a breath of fresh air. The fighting mechanics worked well and it was fun to have degrees of upgrading your characters abilities. I enjoyed that you could fight with and without a weapon and on some characters you had to fight a certain way forcing some strategy into the combat. Character interaction was easy and intuitive. Even the mini game was optional but fun. A great expereience all around.
Graphics: For the XBOX, for an RPG, it is tops really. Short of the crazy CG stuff that Final Fantasy stuff does this was great. And the cutscenes, being closer to the gameplay characters didn't make me feel that huge letdown when I went from beautiful to crappy and jaggedy like in a FF game. Again, the environments were beautiful and visually appealing. Great use of colors and the different environments felt like they belonged in the region of China they were found.
Sound: The music is so good I bought the soundtrack. It really adds soul to the game. It helps carry the story and sets the mood for the enviroments and situations you encounter. The voice acting was exceptional. I would almost venture to say its the best I've heard in a video game. Halo and KOTOR being in the same league. Fantastic all around. An 11 if I could give it.
Value: Several charters to choose from. Two different genders for different character experiences. Several extra accomplises for you to interact with can lead to several new experiences each time you play. Choose the way of the open palm (good) or the closed fist (bad). In other words, lots of replayability if you enjoyed it the first time through.
