Jak 3 is a worthy close to a great series that made the PS2 one of the most versatible consoles ever.

User Rating: 9.4 | Jak 3 PS2
Jak 3 starts right after Jak II. After saving the city and all the parties, the city resumes its normal life and forgets who saved it in the first place. New management quickly blames Jak for the city's overrun of metal heads and the general chaos all aorund. They ban him to the desert for his crimes. Along comes Dax to keep him company. Soon after, they are found by desert raiders and taken to their city. From there, you'll need to combat, race and collect precious items to reach your goal: finish off the menace of metal heads once and for all.

The game takes a cue from Mad Max 2 and almost all of the actions takes place in the desert and in vehicles. The vehicles are mostly land based now, and the variety is awesome. Some cars got great taction, speed and all, but don't have firepower and shields. Others have special abilities. Also, you'll be able to ride weird animals that resemble Star War's tan tans, but those aren't as fun as the cars.

Weapons-wise, the game has the same weapons as the second game, with upgrades to each of them. You'll be able to cycle through all weapon modes, benefiting from all of their factions. The melee is the same as before. Now Jak has light and dark powers. Dark are more ofense-minded and the white magic is more defensive-inclined. The same ooze refills the power.

The graphics are as great as before and the sound department is really well done. All characters that lived-through the last game are here for the finale.

So, the game does the whole if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And for this case, I'll let it slide, since it's a great experience. Not as annoyinly hard as before, but challenging notheless.

If you liked all the racing, check out Jak X, a little spin-off from this game, but it doesn't have a whole lot of story, sadly.
