EPIC! This is one of the greatest games ever created, and an amazing classic.

Even though I was only like five years old when I last played this game, between the reviews and images on Gamespot and the countless hours I invested in this game(I think I probably spent like a year or two getting as close to 100% as I could), I still remember it in surprising clarity after not having played it in years. The plot starts with Jak and Daxter traveling to the island that is the home of all the bad dudes (despite all the green sage's warnings and plain common sense) where daxter falls into a pit of dark eco (there are several types of eco, each with a time limit on how long you can use each one you pick up, made up of a blue speed eco, a yellow fire ball throwing eco, a red attack boosting eco, a green health-restoring eco, and the deadly dark eco) and gets turned into a weasilish freaky thang called an Otsel. After that they head back home and meet the other main characters: Jak (of course), Daxter (of course again), Keira (a techy/hottie and Jak's wannabee girlfriend), and the Green Sage (the green eco master who is basically the iritable old man who raised Jak). Of course Jak doesn't really need to TELL them what happened to Daxter cuz it's pretty obvious (which is good cuz Jak can't talk for some reason). After they see what's happened to the former ugly elf thing, the Green Sage tells them to go to the Blue Sage who is the foremost expert on dark eco (ironically) and Keira offers to build you a speeder bike called a zoomer to get there. So why did it take me countless hours to get to the Blue Sage? Well, in order to power the zoomer, you need to collect enough power cells by finding them around the massive world, trading precursor orbs for them, and completing missions to get them from the civilians. Once you collect enough power cells you can travel to the Blue Sage's hometown which has several distinct locales instead of portals to go anywhere besides the main area (which is what the first zone has) which are all connected through the main hub area which has a few adventures of its own. The cool thing about this is that there aren't individual "levels" that you have to complete one after the other, but differrent regions of the world that are all directly linked and each one is massive. Also, since there's no set path you have to follow, this game is a true free-roamer. One of the creepier aspects of this game is the giant fish that tries to eat you if you swim too far out into the ocean. I've actually gotten away from the fish a couple of times and gotten back to shore, and also have gotten pretty far out into the ocean by jumping to avoid the fish. What really makes this game so much better than its sequels is that instead of specific missions that you have to follow, you are allowed to go wherever you want in order to collect a certain amount of power cells which are scattered throughout the world and go wherever you want to find them. It all boils down to this:
