The first Jak and Daxter game was a light hearted platformer that many saw was a similar to Super Mario 64. However, Jak II takes a much darker twist to the genre, and Naughty Dog does an excellent job at it. Jak II takes place in a futuristic city named Haven City, in which Jak and his friends end up in after going through a rift gate. After escaping from prison, Jak and Daxter head out to stop the tyrannical Baron Praxis. To avoid any more spoilers, the game then goes on to through a myriad of different missions in Haven City and the surrounding areas. Many of these missions are tough, and honestly require many, many tries.The game has a large variety of missions which include timed runs, ring challenges, defending civilians, and defeating hordes of enemies just to name a few. Jak also now sports a new morph gun, which in different areas in the game is upgraded to include many different useful mods. This new feature to the game makes it a hybrid of a platformer and a third person shooter. The graphics of the game are truly top quality, and the sound track is well done as well as everything else in the game. With many secrets still left after the game is finished, expect to have a lot of replay value. This game is truly top notch, incorporating many different things into a fun, action packed masterpiece of a sequel!!!
