Few movie franchises have ever been able to successfully transfer the quality of their moves into the game industry better than the James Bond license. With the popular EA Games directing Bonds’ latest title you may find yourself lost in the movie and game world simultaneously. Gameplay plays in integral part in Everything or Nothing, previous Bond games such as Nightfire, Goldeneye, and Agent under fire have all been played through the first person view. Everything or Nothing goes out on a limb and opts for the third person camera view, and for the most part it succeeds. You use the thumbsticks for movement and by pressing and holding the left shoulder button your character will effectively lock onto an enemy. Once you’ve established a lock you can then press the right shoulder button to fire your weapon. While using the different variety of firearms is a main part of Everything or Nothing’s gameplay you’re also allowed the use of hand to hand combat by pressing the X button. This is especially useful for several of the stealth missions that you’ll participate in. One of the most important features of Everything or Nothing’s gameplay is the ability to use the environment for cover. Similar to Kill. Switch , pressing the black button, will put your back up against any available cover allowing for some extremely tense and exhilarating firefights. The game also serves up some of the most thrilling driving sequences in a James Bond game to date, giving you access to all sorts of vehicles from Helicopters, Porches, and even the occasional motorcycle. This is easily some of the most fun you’ll have playing Everything or Nothing. As cool as the gameplay is there are a few problems to address, for one the third person camera view can get caught behind corners which can be frustrating, the second quibble is the near perfect aim James Bond has when hiding around the environment. Its just a tad to easy to pop out from hiding and clock one or two guards with almost blistering accuracy, this can make the game feel a little to easy but the AI isn’t terrible and they often simply overwhelm you with sheer numbers. Graphically Everything or Nothing looks stellar, Pierce Brosnan, Judi Dench, and John Cleese all lend their appearance to the game’s character models which look stunningly accurate the way it should be. The framerate stays solid throughout the entire game which is outstanding since there can be numerous bad guys on the screen at once. A cool feature of Everything or Nothing’s graphics are the way the driving sequences are presented. Once you reach a particular speed, the screen will have a partial blur effect which adds to the realism. As you might have noticed Everything or Nothing already contains high production value, but EA Games went an additional mile for the audio and got all of the voice acting done by all of the stars from the movies. Cooler still, Everything or Nothing also contains an opening music score for the game similar to the beginning of every James Bond movie. I do have one minor problem with the audio, all of the gunshot sound effects sound as if they were recorded from one gun and simply recorded at different speeds which can cheapen the overall feel of the game. The replay value in the game is reasonably good, the main storyline will take about 10-15 hours. Everything or Nothing also features a rich co-op mode which is reason enough to pick this game up. There are tons of unlockables hidden throughout the game which can be used in the other various multiplayer modes such as Race which allows for two players to run through the co-op mode while trying to get the end the fastest or Arena which pits four players against each other in a deathmatch style shootout. James Bond 007 Everything or Nothing is a blast from start to finish and in my opinion the best 007 game to date. Offering up an exciting array of gameplay modes, this is one action game you shouldn’t miss. Pros: + Sky high production values + Excellent gameplay + Superb Co-op mode Cons: -Frustrating camera at times -Difficulty cannot be adjusted - No XBL play Perplexing: ? This could make a great 007 movie
