surprisingly good and includes a long single-player game

Much more of an action-adventure game than a straight-action shooter. There are several driving missions (with missle combat) and some of the missions use stealth rather than guns. What is impressive is the diversity of the missions, the often large levels that reward expoloration, and the interesting shooting interface. You can hug the walls and kneel and hide behind objects for cover. The gadgets add more variety. Problems? Well, some missions pretty much require trial and error where you fail several times, restart the mission and try again. There is no saving during a mission. This would normally be a bad thing but the gameplay is not usually repititive so it doesn't break the game. The graphics on the XBOX range from great to blocky and a bit low-resolution. The game was designed for the PS2 and it shows with some lack of texturing and a generally fuzzy quality to the bitmaps. The overall look of the game succeeds however and the many different levels make up for the OK graphics. The stealth action is not the entire game (I get bored with stealth games after a few levels). Here the fast-paced vehicles levels and shooting levels are a welcome addition. All in all, a surprisingly well-executed game.
