Simple, lackluster, a clone... but Surprisingly Fun!

User Rating: 7.5 | Jawbreaker 2600
I know nobody's going to read this review on purpose, since the chances of finding this game as a cartridge are slim. Unless you find an emulated version of this game on the net, then fine... You’ll become one of the small handful of people that’s even heard of the game.

Jawbreaker is pretty straight forward as a game. The graphics are decent for the 2600 and the gameplay is fun. It stands by itself as one of the many Pac-man clones of it’s time, but with one exception--It wasn’t too bad. The map is pretty simple since it’s just a row of walls with moving baddies going back and forth through the maze. But the most ingenious aspect that gives the game nice replay value is that the pathways in between the walls constantly move giving a little room for strategic action.

It’s definitely better than the 2600 version of Pac-man in many ways, but lacks the replay value of the arcade Pac-man series.

If you’re into collecting, have an emulator, or have a 2600; IF you find this game, don’t hesitate to get it. You wont be disappointed. It’s definitely fun if you want a simple game from time to time.

It’s also worth a little more than the 50 cents you spent on it.
