This first rewiew will only do justice to this PSX classic

User Rating: 9.5 | Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds PS
The Jeff Wayne's war of the worlds for the Playstation is very differrent from its PC counterpart. In this game you get to pilot some (if not all) of the human vehicles ,from a 3d perspective, that might be fammilliar to those who have played the PC version. The game doesn't stick too tightly with the books happenings but the basics are the same; martians have invaded England and you must blast all of them that stand between you and your objectives to free England and stop the martians from invading the rest of the world.

Gameplay: It's quite challenging to drive around in an armoured lorry and try to kill the martians. You've gotta be carefu and cunning as your machines are not indestructable most of the martian walkers have some sort of weaknesses that can be exploited by correct use of your vehicles. And in some missions the game rewards you with better and more vehicles based on your prefomance earlier or during in the mission.

Graphichs: The explosions and other effects are simply superb for a PS game, when vehicles and other machinery gets killed/destroyed there will be a pretty explosion and debris flyng around. Althought there are parts where it could be better.

Sound: The games sound department is truely cool, explosions, gun fire, engine noices are nicely backed up by Jeff Wayens music that nicely add an erie feeling to the missions. But some effect sounds sound more or less stupid of plain.

The game's totally worth buying, atleast for those who like Jeff Waynes war of the worlds. But others too will get much fun out of this truly revolutinary PS one game!
