I was given a recommendation on Jetpack Joyride in September 2012. Jetpack Joyride is an endless-runner game which makes you play as a character called Barry Steakfries who is equipped with a jetpack that is used for dodging obstacles. Unlike Temple Run, this is a 2D side-scrolling endless runner, but the game is still very entertaining.
There are vehicles for you to pick up and use which are: "Bad As Hog" (a chopper), "Mr. Cuddles" (a mecha dragon), "Crazy Freaking Teleporter" (a teleport device), "Gravity Suit" (a suit which allows Barry to defy gravity), "Profit Bird" (a bird-shaped plane which ejects banknotes), and "Wave Rider" (a jet ski). My favorite vehicles are the Profit Bird and Bad As Hog. The rules of this game are to run as far as you can while picking up coins, completing side missions that the game offers you and avoiding obstacles. If you hit an obstacle, you will die and the game will send you to the roulette screen where you have a chance to win prizes like extra coins, power-ups and even the chance of reviving him for another chance. There are also costumes with one notable one being the Super Saiyan Goku costume which in the game, it makes a reference to Goku's power level being over 9000 which i liked as well.
Other content includes Leaderboards, Achievements, vehicle upgrades and much more. I really love this game as it has a lot of content and it is a very addicting game. This game is available on iOS, Android, PSP, PSVita, PS3, BlackBerry, Windows 8 and Windows Phone however, I recommend that you steer clear of the Playstation versions of the game as I heard they removed a lot of content from the iOS and Android versions. And even then, you know how average or unsuccessful mobile games are when they get ported to consoles, right?
